• Each team owner should log on to the C.R.A.B.S website, and go to the C.R.A.B.S. Chat Room, and log onto the Chat with their team name and first name. Each owner should do this at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the draft.

  • Each team is alotted a set amount of money based upon their finish in the previous season. The amounts range from $60-$90, with some teams losing money for signing more than the alotted number of "freebie" free agents during the previous season.

  • Draft bids are in $1 increments. More money can be bid each round at the bidder's discretion. Example: The bid for Thelonius Monk is $5, the next bidder may up the bid to $10, or whatever amount they choose.

  • The draft will begin with the reigning champion tossing out the first name and bid amount. The World Series runnerup will then either up the bid, or pass. Then onto the third place team, who will do the same. Once one team has passed twice they are out of the bid for that player. (Or if they choose, they can drop out of the bid on their first opportunity).

  • Once fifteen teams have dropped out, the team with the highest bid amount is awarded the player. Then the next team (The World Series runner-up) will throw out the next name, and the process begins again.

  • The draft will run until all teams have either exhausted their draft money, or they decide to drop out.

  • Teams must start the season with a minimum of 26 players. If a team finishes the draft without at least 26 players, they will either need to trade for players to reach the minimum, or they will be forced to sign free agents, which will count against their 5 free agent "freebies". After a team has signed 5 free agents, they will be charged $3 from the next season's free agent draft allotment for each subsequent signing.
